10 healthy gift ideas that will keep on giving

Need gift ideas for someone in your life who is interested in anything health, fitness or self improvement?

Here are 10 gift ideas that will make someone’s life better.

1 ) Active experience vouchers

Let’s face it, most of us have more than enough STUFF. Give the gift presence instead of presents.

2 ) Books

Do you have a friend who loves to read? My favourite fitness / improvement books are…

  • Fast Exercise – Michael Mosely  – –  I love the simple way he gets his message across. This book contained many of the messages about exercise that I bang on about often.
  • The Willpower instinct – Kelly McGonical – – How to get more self control.  Who couldn’t use more of that?
  • No Sweat – Michelle Segar – – The simple science of motivation.  My favourite book from 2016.  So many take aways, but the best motivational tip was this one … Focus on a TODAY benefit, not a future benefit. I will exercise because I feel more energised and less stressed TODAY, not because I want to achieve a health or aesthetic goal sometime in the distant future.
  • The happiness trap – Dr Russ Harris.

3) Courses / workshops

Another subscription gift that keeps on giving. Perfect for anyone who has ever asked the question “What’s for dinner?”

Hello fresh –  is a service that sends you new recipes and all the ingredients to cook your own tasty, healthy meals each week or each fortnight.

I trialled this service out recently and LOVED it. Healthy recipes, all ingredients provided in the correct amounts (no wastage), new fresh ideas each week, simple, foolproof (important for a non-cook like me) and SO TASTY.

10) Activity trackers

Activity trackers can provide a reminder to get up and move more each day which most of us can benefit from.  Just remember that they are a tool to measure your progress, not a solution in themselves.

They have come a long way in design recently, becoming a fashion accessory as well as a tracking tool.
